DOES NOT
Have To Be An All or Nothing Proposition
By Shelia Norling
I’ve been researching the critical importance of alkalizing and reaping the benefits of creating and enjoying an alkalizing lifestyle. A recurring theme I’ve encountered in my research is that alkalizing is an all or nothing proposition; either you alkalize or you don’t, with no middle ground. I don’t agree.
I believe that making simple changes in what you eat can make huge changes in how great you feel.
Simply put, the human body can only survive within a narrow pH range and thrive in an even smaller range. pH is the measure of how acidic or alkaline something is. For example, if the pH levels of a swimming pool or fish tank become to acidic or too alkaline, things begin to grow there that aren’t welcome and then things begin to die. The same is true of the human body.
“pH balance” can be thought of as a neutral point on the pH scale where one end of the scale is too acidic and the other end is too alkaline. Finding this balance in our society is almost always more about alkalizing because so much of what we consume is so acidic (i.e. processed foods, medicines, pollutants, toxic emotions, etc.).
Increasing alkalizing foods and beverages and reducing acid-forming foods and beverages produces results very quickly. The human body is amazing in its ability to heal when provided with the right ingredients. You don’t have to drastically change the way you do life to see results.
The good news is you have control over your results! By simply tweaking what you consume more and more, you can determine how fast and to what degree you create vibrant health and abundant energy.
to drink. If you replace one soda or beer per day with a glass of water with lemon, you not only
reduce the acid that would have been created by
the soda/beer, you also neutralize some of the acid already in your system with the ultra-alkalizing effect of the lemon water. To increase the speed of your healing, simply make this choice more often.
Another beverage choice that can make a huge difference is replacing a cup of coffee with a cup of green tea. If you don’t like just plain green tea, there is a wide selection of great blends to choose from these days. I particularly like Yogi Tea’s Green Tea Triple Echinacea and Green Tea Energy (with ginseng).
Once again, by skipping one cup of coffee you’re reducing the acid-forming results that cup would have created and by replacing it with green tea you benefit from the alkalizing effect as well as many other healthful benefits. Also, if you choose to sweeten your beverages, using organic raw honey instead of processed sugar or sugar substitutes, increases the healing effect.
Just making these beverage choices can make a huge difference. Alkalizing to move toward a healthy pH balance can reduce pain, help stabilize a healthy weight, and even slow the effects of aging. Who wouldn’t want to do that?
There are a lot of similar choices that can help you create vibrant health and abundant energy. Abundant health is our natural state and our body does everything in its power to return to this state. You decide with every choice you make, whether to assist or hinder your body’s efforts to express abundant health.
